Sierra de las nieves, El Burgo
LOCATION: Sierra de las Nieves. El Burgo- Nuestra Señora de las Nieves country house.
TIME: Four hours.
DESCRIPTION: Leaving the Burgo town on the road to Yunquera, there is on the way, 2 km. farther, a brook with the same name that has to be crossed in order to arrive at a track wich branches off to the right.
Sierra de las nieves, Torrecillas
LOCATION: Sierra de las Nieves. Los Quejigales- Torrecilla.
TIME: Eight hours.
DESCRIPTION: Leaving the Quejigales country house we shall walk along a track for about 500 m. and then leave it in order to make our way through a valley wooked with pine trees.
Then, we must climb up the Cañada del Cuerno crossing a beautiful forest of fir trees and gaining height along a twisting track.
Antequera, Fuente de piedra
LOCATION: Llanos de Antequera. Round Fuente de Piedra lake.
TIME: Three hours.
DESCRIPTION: The main interest of this route is walking on round Fuente de Piedra lake, the biggest in Andalusia and one of the most important sheltering areas for birds.
LOCATION: Hoya de Antequera- Antequera- Peñón de los Enamorados.
TIME: Two hours.
DESCRIPTION: The beauty of this route lies in visiting the most important prehistoric remains in Andalusia, and in the power of the landscape in la Hoya de Antequera, of great tourist interest.
Antequera, el Torcal route
LOCATION: Torcal de Antequera- Antequera- Torcal- Rutas Pedestres.
La Sauceda, peñon buitre
LOCATION: Sierra del Aljibe. La Sauceda- Peñón del Buitre.
TIME: Two hours.
DESCRIPTION: We shall leave La Sauceda hermitage, situated 2 km. On the road with leads to the built- up area along the track described in the route MA-5.
La Sauceda, pico del algibe
LOCATION: Sierra del Aljibe. La Sauceda-Pico (peak) del Aljibe.
TIME: Four hours.
DESCRIPTION: Leaving La Sauceda houses, we shall take the track witch on the right-the left as we go upwards-of the brook leads to the Posada Llana gorge.
This road is surrounded by a dense cork oak grove, of great ecologic richness, with bushes that thicken the woods even more.
LOCATION: Sierra de Mijas. Mijas town- Mijas peak.
TIME: Two hours.
DESCRIPTION: We shall leave Mijas towards Benalmádena and at the km.1, a road on our left leads to a pit.
At the end of the road, a lane runs on up to a steep part of the valley towards the Pico de Mendoza.
Sierra de Grazalema, El bosque
Time: Three hour.
Starting from the village of El Bosque wew shall head for the youth hostel. The Bosque river crosses the track and as we walk up we shall see a lane which goes along the course of the brook, sometimes crossing to the opposite bank through beautiful bridges.
The village has existed since Phoenician and Roman times, and its municipal boundaries stretch from the sierra of the same name to the banks of the River Guadalhorce, most of the area within them being devoted to agriculture, notably olives, almonds, fruit and vegetables.
Monuments of interest include St. Peter’s Church and Virgen de los Remedios Chapel, the latter, built on the site of a former mosque, attracting pilgrims from all over the region.
