Purullena is located in Hoya de Guadix, in a fertile plain watered by three rivers. In this area travellers can find clay hills and in them, singular house-caves that are very noticeable, with white chimneys against the red background of the soil.
It is a must for visitors so as to get to know troglodyte dwelling, their beautiful picturesqueness, and also to buy some souvenirs of the local crafts and products grown in the Vega de Granada (peaches are particularly good) that are sold in the many kiosks on both sides of the road.
