On may you can attend the pilgrimage in honour of Santiago el Menor, who is venerated as a patron saint only in this town in Spain.

The residents of Pedro Abad make the trek on this day to the Ermita del Santo sanctuary carrying the image on their backs.

Along the way they sing and dance and share traditional chorchos (lupines) accompanied by food and wine. Once they reach the grounds of the Ermita del Santo Sanctuary pots of food are shred with neighbours and travellers are invited to spend a day in the country.

Other unusual fiestas are that of Most Holy Christ of the Homeless and Holy Saturday, which upon completion of the Easter Vigil proceeds to the Burning of the Judases ( comical puppets made by residents and hung in the streets) where the children and adults run behind a drum and set fire to the puppets.
