In late December San Silvestre de Guzman observes “Slaughtering Day” when local residents slaughter their hogs to prepare all sorts of chacinas and other pork products.

If you are lucky during the fiesta you will hear pure fandangos, a prelude to the marvellous fiestas that this village celebrates on the last day of the year, but actually the best fandangos are heard in June when san Silvestre de Guzmán hosts the Provincial Fandango Competition.
