The Caliphate route can be easily combined with an excursion to the Sierra Nevada mountains or to the villages of the Alpujarras.
There are two main itineraries from Córdoba. The southern route passes Águilar de la Frontera and Priego de Córdoba, the northern route takes us through Espejo and Baena to Alcalá la Real. Then you can take either the direct way (N 432) to Granada or visit the villages of the Granadian Vega.

Train Services (Cercanias)
The new suburban train station in the new Terminal T3 building links Malaga Airport with the city centre in one direction and the resorts of Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol in the other.
The new train station is situated underground, but it is very spacious with plenty of natural light as it is partially built with glass walls and roof.
From Málaga Airport to Málaga City:
The first train is at 07.15, from then onwards they leave every quarter to and quarter past the hour, until the last train which leaves at 23.45.

Sierra de las nieves, Tolox
LOCATION: Sierra de las Nieves. Tolox- Cañada de las Carnicerías.
TIME: Five hours.
DESCRIPTION: Tolox will be our starting point. We must walk along a track that makes its way nortwards although it soon turns eastwards in order to reach the Piloncillo through a valley where there is a brook called the Horcados. We must walk on along the right side.
Sierra de las nieves, Yunquera
LOCATION: Sierra de las Nieves. Yunquera- Los Enamorados peak.
TIME: Six hours.
DESCRIPTION: Leaving Yunquera towards El Burgo, after having passed a castle, we shall take the track wich branches off into two tracks that make their way to a forest of firs.
Sierra de las nieves, los sauces, Ronda peak
LOCATION: Sierra de las Nieves. Los Sauces- El Palancar country house- Peñón de Ronda- Los Sauces.
TIME: Three hours.
DESCRIPTION: The route provides a pleasant walking tour through Los Sauces camp area where there is a grove of firs.
