The central of population of this small municipality of the Sierra de Segura region sits at the foot of mount Peñalta, so the pines that are reforesting its slopes come right down to the edge of village, giving a special mountain atmosphere. Tourism has not invaded this region which preserves interesting natural areas for lovers of nature and tranquillity, only broken by the gentle gurgle of the local springs and the water that flows from its many fountains. In the historic city centre you will steep streets and narrow, crooked, abruptly dead-ending alleys.
Outstanding sights are Casa de los Marines, Casa del Labrador and the parochial church of nuestra Señora de la Asunción. The silence of this village is broken during its fiestas, which honour the protector of the herniated and the local patron Saint. The town hall organises various sporting and cultural activities, one of the most popular being the running of the bulls through the closed-off streets of the village.
