Alcaidesa, the only links course in Spain, is more reminiscent of a Scottish seaside layout, complete with healther and gorse bushes. The views are spectacular, the Rock of Gibraltar looks incredibly close and on a clear day you can see the Atlas Mountains in North Africa. Opened in June ’92,the course was designed by Peter Alliss and Clive Clark and is enjoyed by players of all abilities.
Former Ryder Cup player and captain Bernard Gallagher presided over the opening ceremony at the club which during the 1997 Ryder Cup cohosted the first Junior Match between European and American youngsters. A considerable amount of effort has gone into Alcaidesa.The course takes its golf very seriously and its committed to achieving the same standars as its illustrious neighbours.
How to get there: The turn off for the golf course is at Km 124,6 on the highway between Sotogrande and La Linea. Once you have left the highway, Alcaidesa is 2.5 Km away.
