The third weekend in june the Sanctuary of Virgen de la Sierra, located five kilometres from Cabra, draws Gypsies from all over Europe for a spectacular pilgrimage. The fiesta begins on Sunday with a traditional Gypsy mass in the sanctuary after which some thirty image bearers remove the throne of the Virgin passes while the women do the same with their petticoats while singing the distinctive alboreas.
This pilgrimage will so impress you that you will want to come back in early September to participate in the fiestas in honour of the patron saint the Virgen de la Sierra which have been designed as of National Tourist Interest.
