In Cuevas de Almanzora you can let yourself wander through the streets delighting in the ornate façades and exquisitely detailed original grillwork of the well-preserved bourgeois mini-palaces.

You will come upon the Marqués de Los Vélez castle and once you have passed through its only gate you will behold a broad parade ground courtyard with two important buildings, the seventeenth century Casa de la Tercia, which houses the Archaeological Museum, and the palace of the Marqués de los Vélez, which was built in the sixteenth century and now is the seat of the Antonio M. Campoy Museum.

The cave houses route will take you through the neighbourhood of the caves of Calguerín or of Realengo or you can immerse yourself in the hundreds of caves in the area of los Algares a former poor cave community where the Moorish town was located.
