Quedan restos del castillo de Santill\u00e1n, que ponen de manifiesto su implantaci\u00f3n \u00e1rabe y su importancia, aunque no exista documentaci\u00f3n que lo mencione. El templo se fund\u00f3 en 1670 y desde la toma del pueblo cuya fecha se desconoce, hasta esta fecha, la villa se fue ampliando hacia la carretera con el fin de poseer mejores comunicaciones, a\u00fan alej\u00e1ndose de los manantiales de agua. En 1679 se otorg\u00f3 a Mollina el ser Cabeza de Condado."}
