Santa Fe is situated in the centre of the Vega de Granada, close
by the river Genil.
It is about 11 Km from Granada and its inhabitants live in the town and the annex areas - El Jau and Pedro Ruiz.
The town centre is arranged as a Roman camp site, typically military, with two streets crossing in the centre, and one door in each one of the four extremes, which used to close the walled camp area.
The layout lived on thanks to Spanish king Carlos III, who ordered
to block up the hollows around the wall so that the layout of the
town was not affected by future works.
