Guadix is the natural pass from Levante to Andalusia and it is
one of the oldest human settlements in Spain. The troglodyte habitat
is very developed in Guadix, and the houses-caves are characteristic
of quarters like Las Ermitas or Las Cuevas; here there is the
Ermita Nueva, where the Padre Poveda cave is, and the Artes y
Costumbres Populares cave-museum, an exhibition about the handicraft
and home industries of the region.
Close to this area there is the Magdalena viewing point, from where you can contemplate beautiful landscapes. It is a monumental town with an interesting historic-artistic heritage.
