Sierra de las nieves, El Burgo

LOCATION: Sierra de las Nieves. El Burgo- Nuestra Señora de las Nieves country house.
TIME: Four hours.

DESCRIPTION: Leaving the Burgo town on the road to Yunquera, there is on the way, 2 km. farther, a brook with the same name that has to be crossed in order to arrive at a track wich branches off to the right.

Near this place there is the Refugio de la Fuensanta, a camping site in the middle or an excellente poplar grove where we may pitch our tent with a permit.
After walking on past a junction to the left, we shall walk on up trough the Barranco del portillo ( El portillo´s gorge).

Taking a junction to the right that leads to the Palancar country house and walking on along a sloppy track, we shall reach the Refugio de los Sauces camp area, in the middle of pines, cork oaks and poplars, belonging to the IARA. This area is an important starting point to the routes wich cross the mountains.
The Nuestra Señora de las Nieves which cross the mountains.
