Nijar - Cabo de Gata - Punta Polacra

TIME: 5 h. aprox.

We shall leave San José going north along the beach. Then we shall come across a lane which branches off to go around the back of the Cerro de Enmedio Peak.

This trace we are crossing is the Sierra de Gata and the Fraile Peak, 493 m. high, leads to the Escudos beaches and the La Isleta town.

Then we continue first along the beach and then we shall reach the Cala de Carraje, with a splendid view of the Cerro de los Lobos. From the top we can see the rave and the Punta Calahorra, where the expanse of the Almerian coast in this area of the Cabo de Gata borders on perfection.
